Paper Fashions

Klutz books have always been a favorite around our house, but this latest one, Paper Fashions, has got my daughter obsessed!

A couple of her friends have the book and she would pour over it whenever we went for a visit. Luckily, she got it from her grandpa for Christmas, and it seems to be her favorite gift as she's spent hours making different outfits over the past week.

I especially like the two shirts on the right in the above photo.

The evening gown is also very elegant.

Now if only she would take up sewing!

That looks like a great book! My daughter would love that. Her birthday is in May and she'll be turning seven. Do you think it would appropriate for that age - skill wise? She loves to cut and make her own dolls out of paper.

I think she could probably do it if she's good with scissors. There are stencils for tracing the patterns onto paper, so that part is pretty straight forward. If she's into making paper dolls, I think she'd love it.

I love the blue skirt combo. I've never seen that book. I think I could spend a whole weekend playing with those as well. How old is she? I learned to sew when I was 6. Very basic, I made an apron. My sewing skills have served me well ever since.

Chelee - Yes, that outfit's a cute one.
She's 10, and has done a little bit of sewing with her grandma (there's a photo of a doll backpack on here somewhere that they made together). I think that's something we'll work on more this year, as I really enjoyed sewing at around her age.

Oh dear, I'm not a big fan of sewing, but I don't want that to get in the way of my children learning. My daughter is quite crafty, and who knows where that could lead?...Hmmm, I guess I've gotta learn sewing. ;)

I love it!

I have been saving some paper doll cut outs for when my niece gets a bit older; I think I will order this book as well. I loved paper dolls and fashion when I was a little girl!
